Ksenia Sukhinova Miss World 2008

Kseniya Sukhinova was crowned the new Miss World 2008 at the Miss World Pageant in Johannesburg. Televised live to over two billion people across the world.

Kseniya Born in 1987 in Nizhnevartovsk , northwest Siberia . later moved to the Siberian city of Tyumen, a centre of Russia's oil and gas industry located 2,000 kilometres from Moscow . Where she has been studying at the Tyumen State Oil and Gas University for five years, studying for a computer engineering bachelor’s degree. She was recognized as an outstanding student in 2006 in her University. Russia's newspapers purred with satisfaction following Kseniyas victory in the Miss World contest and proved what everyone already knew -- that Russian girls are the most beautiful in the world

“I dedicate my victory to my grandmother and to Russia. I want to thank everybody who supported me. My victory is a New Year present to all Russians,” the beauty said, glowing with happiness.

Before being crowned Miss World, Ksenia had also won the titles of Miss Tyumen, Miss Image and Miss Russia 2007. The Siberian beauty took over her current title from Zhang Zilin of China, last year's winner.

The 21-year-old 1.78 m beauty queen is the second Russian to hold the Miss World title. She was crowned Miss Russia 2007 on December 14, 2007, and Miss World Top Model on December 3, 2008.
